Archaeologists have uncovered the secrets of a merchant ship that sank in the XV century

Scientists were able to determine that the Madero was a very large medieval merchant ship, almost 20 metres long and with a hull width of almost 8 metres. Analysis showed that the ship was built after 1467, but that it was sunk close to the turn of the 16th century. The wood used to build the ship was imported from two different places, which is an example of trade and shipbuilding in the Baltic Sea in the 15th century.

The scientists also added that stone cores found at the wreck site indicate that the ship was armed when it sank.
